Joe was a very kind and caring man and will always be remembered for his devotion to his beloved Vera. Married for more than 52 years the two truly became one person. As a couple there could be no doubt how much they cared about their children and grandchildren. “Family first” was their guiding principle and together they found great satisfaction in spending time, visiting, celebrating, and caring for their children, parents, siblings, and generations of nieces and nephews. Ultimately stationed in Germany after WWII, his military training and discipline stayed with him throughout his life; he retired from the police force with a “pistol expert” designation. His retirement years were filled with family trips throughout the U.S. and abroad to Panama, Ireland and Poland.
