Deposit, NY is located 140 miles west of New York City and about 25 miles east of the City of Binghamton. The county line between Broome County on the west and Delaware County on the east splits the village in
half. This line was originally established as the Fort Stanwix Treaty line of
1763. This boundary separated the white and Indian territories. The 2000 census list the villages population at 1,936. Deposit
is about three miles from the border between New York State and Pennsylvania.
